Community Engagement - Pavilion Festival and streetRAVE – Colours
For a new festival in Ayr This is EventoS was appointed as the community engagement liaison.
Pavilion Festival and streetRAVE delivered by Colours was the event that for the first time would bring live DJing Music to the Scottish coastline.
To engage with the community meant to be proactively active with contacting the community councils, resident associations and individual residents who wanted to know more about the event. Over 700 properties were engaged with including local businesses and hotels. To have a festival going anywhere for the first time – is nerve-wracking unknown for residents. But by the end of the festival we had individuals coming out saying ‘thank you’. This was due to the amount of work and openness we had put in.
Community Engagement is not just ‘listening to complaints’ – it is about creating proactive plans to create compliments.
